I-DE Redes Eléctricas Inteligentes, S.A.U., the leading company within the Iberdrola group's business, is engaged in the battle against climate change along with the rest of the group. To pursue that objective, the company strives to help achieve the group's environmental goals, namely:

  • To reduce CO2 emissions by 30% in 2020 compared to the company's specific emissions in 2007.
  • To lower those emissions to less than 150 g per kWh by 2030, representing a 50% decrease in specific emissions compared to 2007.
  • And, last but not least, to be carbon neutral by 2050.

Furthermore, like the rest of the group, the company's business strategy has taken on the Sustainable Development Goals approved by the UN in September 2015, focusing especially on the following goals:

  • Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7).
  • Climate action (SDG 13).
  • Clean water and sanitation (SDG 6).
  • Greater investments in R&D (SDG 9).
  • Fostering a culture of respect towards land ecosystems (SDG 15).
  • Building partnerships to achieve the goals (SDG 17).
