i-DE may cut off customers' electricity supply, under the established regulatory conditions, in the following cases:

  • When requested to do so by the retailers with whom they have signed the electricity supply contract.
  • In the event of non-payment of the access tariffs.
  • In certain cases in which there is confirmed electricity fraud.
  • For technical reasons (maintenance of or improvements to the power distribution grid) and safety/security reasons (relative to supply, persons or things).

Under no circumstances may electric power supply be cut off due to non-payment at installations whose services have been declared as essential as set out in Section 52.4 of Electricity Sector Act 24/2013, dated 26 December.
