For i-DE workplace risk prevention is a matter of paramount importance, which takes priority over all other aspects.
In order to achieve "zero accidents", i-DE carries out the following actions in this area:
All these activities are managed through a Workplace Risk Prevention Management System, certified to the OSHAS 18001 standard, which includes the safety policy, objectives and programmes, duties and responsibilities, procedures, the methods and results of risk assessments and the controls established. This system enables us to systematise, manage and guarantee fulfilment of all the requirements in connection with workplace risk prevention.
i-DE has reduced its incident rate by 37% in the last five years. Worker health and safety comes first, ahead of environmental safety and that of the facilities. It is part of the Iberdrola group's vision and values and is central to our decision-making and everything we do.
i-DE has a Work Health and Safety Policy [PDF] approved by the Board of Directors.
We trust ourselves to put into practice the core principles that will keep ourselves, our contractors, customers and the general public safe on a daily basis.
These principles are common-sense and easily understandable and they complement the best practices we already implement. In fact, that is how we already work. However, if we put them into practice, they will continue to keep us all safe and promote the type of culture and environment where we all want to work. These are our Core Principles for Health and Safety:
We are preparing an access point to report any incident that might affect personal safety.

i-DE's results have improved significantly in recent years:
In 2016, the contractor accident rate stood at 0.57%, in line with the on-going fall over recent years.
